Tallman Winter Series Final Event Preview

The final event for the 2008-2009 Tallman Winter Series is coming up this Sunday. Over 150 runners have braved the cold weather to train for these races and it all comes down to the 10K that starts at 2 PM this Sunday in Charleston, WV This unique series is the only races in our area where the brave can come out in the bitter cold and test their fitness. Running is a year round activity and the Tallman Track Club has done a great job of creating this successful series.

The setup is really cool! The first race was a 5K, then a month later they moved the distance up to an 8K (5 Miles), and the final race is a 10K. Each race is a little further then the list. It is a great place to buildup your mileage.

Even if someone has not participated in the first two events, WK Munsey of the Tallman Track Club wants everyone to know that they are still welcome to show up. He wants to remind everyone that they will be holding drawings for prizes, sweatshirts, and pizza for a post-race meal! While most of the people in the race may be focused on the fitness aspect of just running, there are a few that are in it for glory!
